International Chamber of Commerce “Chongqing Event” for the New Land-Sea Corridor

Event Overview

On October 24, the International Chamber of Commerce for the New Land-Sea Corridor was held at the Yuzhou Hotel in Chongqing. Vice Mayor and Mayor Hu Henghua attended and delivered a speech, expressing gratitude to various sectors for their long-term support of the New Land-Sea Corridor initiative. Attendees included Odit Suvannaphong, President of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce, Ma Xiaoli, Vice Chairman of the China-EU Chamber of Commerce, and Chongqing city leaders Li Mingqing, Liu Shangjin, and Zheng Xiangdong.

Chongqing’s Development Strategy

Hu Henghua pointed out that Chongqing is deeply studying and implementing the spirit of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, focusing on the “Two Major Positions.” He emphasized that Chongqing will fully leverage the advantages of national strategic overlap and industrial foundation to strive to become a significant growth pole for high-quality development in the country. As a key promoter of the New Land-Sea Corridor, Chongqing will accelerate the construction of a modern multi-modal transportation and logistics system, promoting the integration of corridors, logistics, and industries.

Building a Cooperation Platform

The International Chamber of Commerce Chongqing event aims to gather international business forces and establish a dialogue exchange platform for deepening practical cooperation along the corridor. Hu Henghua stressed that Chongqing will work with chambers of commerce from countries along the corridor to create a shared development framework, aiming to make the New Land-Sea Corridor a “bridge” for regional linkage and international cooperation.

Chongqing is the only direct-controlled municipality in China’s central and western regions, possessing a superior geographical location and strong economic development potential.
